58 Tips For Cleaning and Organizing During Deployment
One of my favorite and productive ways to help pass the time more quickly while my husband is deployed is doing house projects.  Today I’m sharing 58 of my favorite tips that I’ve collected to help motivate and inspire you to get your house cleaned and organized during deployment

  • 1-Watch cleaning videos on YouTube to get inspired. 

  • 2-Clean cell phone and remotes with alcohol wipes.
  • 3-Deep clean your coffee maker by brewing half water half vinegar.
  • 4-Organize your linen closet with baskets, labels, and try an over the door hanger.
  • 5-Clean buildup off of your shower heads and faucets by tying a bag with vinegar and water around it and letting sit.
  • 6-Remove the buildup in your humidifier.

  • 7-Let toilet bowl cleaner sit for 5 minutes before scrubbing.

  • 8-Use a pumice stone to get rid of ring in toilet bowl.

  • 9-Remove cloudiness from your glasses with vinegar.
  • 10-Wash your shower curtains and liners in the washing machine (add a couple of towels for extra agitation).
  • 11-Use a magic eraser to clean marks off walls and floors.
  • 12-Put a couple of lemon rinds through your garbage disposal to freshen it up.
  • 13-Wash your kids favorite stuffed animals in the washing machine.
  • 14-Wash your hair brushes in a bowl of warm water and a little bit of shampoo.
  • 15-Freshen up furniture, carpet, and mattresses by sprinkling baking soda, letting it sit, then vacumming it up.
  • 16-Clean your windows and mirrors with a little bit of ammonia in hot water for a streak free clean.
  • 17-Clean grimy kitchen cupboard surfaces with a little dish soap and warm water in a spray bottle.
  • 18-Easily clean a messy microwave by microwaing a bowl of lemon water until steamy and then let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • 19-Regularly clean out your purse and periodically wipe down or run through washing machine if possible.
  • 20-Put unused dryer sheets in your clothes closets and linen closet to keep them smelling fresh.
  • 21-Run plastic toys through your dishwasher for a fast hands off cleaning.
  • 22-Have a priority laundry basket in your laundry room for things that are needed back in a timely manner.
  • 23-Iron clothes when they’re damp.
  • 24-Make your bed with the sheets still slightly damp for easy sheet dewrinkling.
  • 25-Put a disposable oven liner on the bottom of your oven for easy clean up after spills.
  • 26-Use crock pot liners for easy clean up after crock pot dinners.
  • 27-Get rid of unused/unwanted items in one specific area before organizing it.
  • 28-Clean out crumbs in your drawers.
  • 29-Use drawer organizers to keep the contents of your drawers under control.
  • 30-Use plastic shower pockets on the back of your car seats for storing needed items.
  • 31-Use lazy susans when organizing your kitchen and pantry.
  • 32-Use an over the door shoe organizer on the back of a bathroom door with limited drawer/counter space to organize hygiene items.
  • 33-Add cord keepers to your appliances.
  • 34-Have your child play with legos on a tablecloth or blanket for easy clean up afterward.
  • 35-Use ceiling storage shelfs to get more storage space in a small/full garage.
  • 36-Hang hand tools and yard tools on the wall of your garage.
  • 37-Use the sides of your cabinets for extra storage caddies.
  • 38-Add a beautiful decor item to areas that build up with clutter to make it harder to leave things there so that the clutter builds up more slowly,
  • 39-Keep a small garbage can in your car to stay on top of car messes.
  • 40-Use under-the-bed rolling storage containers for extra storage and to keep things from getting shoved under the bed.
  • 41-Freeze food flat so that it can stand up for better visibility and organization.
  • 42-Hide your ironing board and iron behind your laundry room door hanging on the wall using a hook designed for these items.
  • 43-Hang your jewelry on a peg board.
  • 44-Use clear canisters when storing food so you can easily see what it is and how much you have of it.
  • 45-Hang a dry erase marker board near your pantry so you can easily access and update your shopping list.
  • 46-Store wrapping paper in a tall laundry hamper or zipped into a garment bag.
  • 47-Organize your nail polish into a spice rack.
  • 48-Sort your earrings in an ice cube tray.
  • 49-Wipe down stainless steel appliances with stainless steel cleaner regularly.
  • 50-Make a plan for cleaning your fridge on a semi regular basis and stick to it.
  • 51-Periodically clean your garbage can.
  • 52-Dust your ceiling fans.
  • 53-Easily clean grimy blinds by taking them down, hanging them outside, hosing them down, spraying with foaming cleaner or oven cleaner, letting them sit, then hosing them off again.
  • 54-Periodically wash your curtains and window treatements.
  • 55-Dust your high walls with a dry mop.
  • 56-Run a special cycle in your washing machine with a washing machine cleaner treatment.
  • 57-Clean the mesh lint trap in your dryer with a toothbrush and warm soapy water.
  • 58-Clean your make up brushes with shampoo and warm water
