Deployment days are only happening once, and I know that part of the joy of our homecoming reunion will be sharing stories about the experiences we’ve had in this season of separation.
While it can feel overwhelming at times, this season of separation can teach us valuable lessons about efficiency and prioritization.
While it can feel overwhelming at times, this season of separation can teach us valuable lessons about efficiency and prioritization. Especailly right now, as many of us also manage new routines and challenges related to state-wide shutdowns, we are learning to stay flexibile and let go of things that are less than urgent. If you haven’t heard this lately, let me tell you: YOU are doing an amazing job- truly, you are a Chaos Coordinator.
Living life on the home-side of a deployment can seem like a heavy weight. By simply becoming open to joyful experiencing these things, we can begin to help ourselves shift focus away from the struggle and onto life’s little pleasures. Deployment is tough- but it is NOT So Serious.
What could you accomplish in the days leading up to homecoming? Could you meet your spouse at homecoming as the strongest, most resilient version of yourself?
By shifting my focus away from what we’re missing and onto what we’re learning about ourselves and each other in this season I’m encouraged to embrace the lovey-dovey aspect of this month of the year. Deployment can give us a unique opportunity to grow our relationship in ways that many other couples will never get to experience.
